By John Vasquez
I purchased this Dell Optiplex GX270 as a gift for my nephew. This is his first computer and it's a great computer for basic computing. This computer is an older model Dell and should not be mistaken for a high-performing computer. The computer is great for sending emails, browsing the web, and typing up some documents but not much more than that. The computer has an Intel Pentium 4 processor with Hyper-Threading. It may differ between sellers but the computer I received came with 512MB of RAM and a 60GB hard drive. Obviously today 512MB of RAM does not cut it, so I upgraded the computer to 3GB of RAM. With the 3GB of RAM it boosted the performance of the computer dramatically. These computers usually come with the bare minimum when you buy them, so buyers need to be aware that although they may be ready to use as soon as you receive them, they may need to have hardware upgrades depending on what you plan on using them for. Overall I am satisfied with the computer I got for what I paid for it. With a couple of hardware upgrades the computer works good for being an almost 10-year-old computer.
